AstroYoga for Your Year: Astrology and Yoga in 2026
Feb 13, 2026The hallmark of 2026, simply, is major planetary shifts. While of course, the planets are always shifting, this year has some particularly exciting transits in store that could have long-lasting impact.
All five outer planets of our solar system – more technically, the outer planets of Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto, and the outermost inner planets of Saturn and Jupiter – are moving into new signs this year (or just shifted, in the case of Pluto).
These slower-moving planets help to form culture on longer arcs of time, sometimes decades. That they are all transiting to new signs in such a short amount of time is a big deal for all of us on a collective scale. Because these planets will stay in their new signs for 1 - 20 years, it’s worth noting what their movements convey.
Here’s an overview of the big planetary movements in 2026:
- Pluto continues to move through the first decan of Aquarius, after firmly landing there last December. He stays there until 2043.
- Saturn and Neptune conjoin at 0o Aries on February 20. Saturn will stay there for 2 ½ years until 2028, and Neptune will be there for 13 years until 2039.
- Uranus enters Gemini on April 25, which will stay there until 2033.
- Jupiter enters Leo on June 30, and stays there for about a year.
This year is a pivotal moment in which we change direction collectively. Interestingly, there is also direction in this year’s planetary movement. All five outer planets are moving into fire and air signs (and out of earth and water signs). Pluto and Uranus move into air signs Aquarius and Gemini, respectively, while Saturn, Neptune, and Jupiter move into fiery Aries and Leo.
What’s all that mean?
It means, largely, that immense change is afoot – and that we’re probably going to feel it and see it in wide-reaching places. If you are feeling the pressure of these times, welcome! You’ve landed in a good place.
It’s a wonderful time to either begin to learn or deepen your study of astrology and yoga, aka AstroYoga, because
- The movement of the planets is more likely to be noticeable in your life, and
- The practice of AstroYoga can immensely help you navigate the changing tides that the movement of these planets bring. It’s news you can use!
So in the spirit of changing and exploratory times, we here at ISAY are undertaking an article series under the name AstroYoga Journal, highlighting the major transits of 2026 and how to apply yogic principles to these cosmic shifts. In addition to these transit reports, we’ll be writing a foundational article series about the fundamentals of AstroYoga.
As we publish, we’ll update the links here, so this page can serve as an index. Keep an eye on the AstroYoga Journal homepage throughout the year to get timely yogic insights into astrological transits. (Also keep an eye on the ISAY Classes page for new AstroYoga Flow Classes each month, so you can practice what you learn and actually begin to integrate these principles in your daily life.)

There is so much richness in looking at longer arcs of time in astrology. Segmenting your life’s timeline into years is a helpful and more manageable way to explore different goals, relationships, aspects, and flavors of your life. Even if you are reading this at the end of this year, or several years in the future, there is always value in looking back and integrating what has happened, particularly during key periods of change in your own life. While some of this year’s transits are rare, some of them will happen many more times in your lifetime, meaning you’ll be revisiting that particular energy many times again. Learning how to flow through both difficult and beneficent planetary energies is the key behind AstroYoga.
The times may be turbulent with change, but a yoga practice founded in astrological basis can keep you grounded and even – yes, even – help you thrive. The embodied idea behind astrology is, if you sync your body’s rhythm and timing with the rhythm and timing of the universe – the dance of the cosmos – then you can step into the river of life and swim. Yoga is both a practical and spiritual method designed to help you navigate those exact waters, as you begin to flow with the natural energies of life rather than against them. AstroYoga is truly a practice designed for times just as these.
